EIT-KICS 2009: FUTURE INTERNET, ECONOMY, SOCIETY AND
TERRITORIES OF TOMORROW: ACTORS OF THE NETWORK ( FIESTOT)

The main goal of FIESTOT  is the creation of a knowledge and innovation community around information society of tomorrow.

This community will gather all research potentials of all actors and their specifics networks by creating a critical mass of innovation community for the future  information and communication society inside the framework of EIT.

FIESTOT will have a three pronged benefits. It will empower the innovation communities, enable the development and applications in 22 research  fields. It will attract the public and private investors in the following areas by promoting individual or organizational endeavors towards low cost innovative applications and fostering ICT based entrepreneurship in rural areas:

• Learning systems for Skill development
• Improve healthcare delivery systems
• Specific applications for tourism industry
• Sustainable environment of green technologies

FIESTOT will adapt CENT as a model and methodology for the Territories of Tomorrow via 4 co-location centers (FR, ES, MT, IT). European New Technologies Centers (CENT), an international network of «small towns and villages» created for digital activities in order to improve life quality. European New Technologies Centers will be not only presented but also analysed and implemented in their approach as engines for the tomorrow knowledge society, through their first realisations in the cities community of Privas in Ardeche (France). This process contributes in developing a deeper understanding of the factors involved in implementing innovations in social contexts , the barriers and forms of the public and private fundings, and a complex sustainable aspects via a Business Model and IPR.

The CENT will be presented by a personalized interactive digital map of the Innovation Territories as well. Its network should be accessible virtually for the innovation community via the tools of Google Earth, Web 2.0 and Panorama Broadcasting Media technology.

During the follow-up phase and mid-term phase, the resulting insights can be easily shared with other (similar) teams from other parts of the territories, or even from other countries and cultures, as this type of experiences provide a common basis for addressing and productively exchanging knowledge related to the challenge of behaviour change across the Innovative Territories.
